What time does the wedding ceremony start?

THE CEREMONY starts at 4:30 pm AND will be around 15 minutes long.

Will there be any events for guests to attend in addition to the wedding on Oct 7th?

Yes! we will be having a welcome party on October 6th and A BREAKFAST THE DAY AFTER THE WEDDING ON OCTOBER 8TH. ALL DETAILS CAN BE FOUND IN THE “EVENTS” SECTION.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Weather permitting, our ceremony and reception will ALL be outdoors.

What will the weather be like?

Still warm! Sicily is beautiful in October and their summer extends into this month with average daily temperatures ranging from 66℉ to 75℉ during the day, with cooler evenings. On October 7, 2024, the weather was sunny with a high of 79℉ and a low of 62℉.

What type of food will be served?

Amazing Italian food! We chose dishes authentic to Sicily so expect lots of fresh seafood, pasta, and Italian-style desserts. There will be a ton of food so come hungry! If you have dietary restrictions, we will accommodate them, just let us know in your RSVP.

Should I bring a gift to the venue?

Because you’re traveling to Italy to celebrate with us - your presence is a gift in itself, physical gifts are not necessary! If you are unable to make it and still want to contribute we have a future fund and registry you can browse here.

What’s the address?

The address is Largo Tonnara, Scopello, Sicilia 91014, Italy. The venue is located on a nature preserve about 45 minutes to 1 hour from the Palermo airport.

Attire

What is the dress code for the wedding?

The dress code is beach/resort formal… but what does this mean? Here’s a guide on what to wear…

Ladies - A long dress, suit, or jumpsuit all work for a resort formal wedding. If you want to wear bright colors, patterns, AND MATERIALS, go for it!

Gentlemen - for men, SUIT OR JACKET WITH SLACKS PREFERRED, TIE OPTIONAL. Additionally, Dress shoes or a nice pair of shoes.

What type of shoes should I wear?

The Tonnara is very old and the ground is mostly made up of cobblestones. If you choose to wear heels we would recommend wearing short heels, block heels, or wedges. Please feel free to pack flats for dancing! below is a photo of the ground for reference.

Should I pack a bathing suit?

YES! The Tonnara di Scopello is right on the water. We’ll have private access to this beach on October 6, 7, and 8th, so please feel free to come by whenever and sunbathe or swim. There are a ton of chairs, umbrellas, and towels at the venue that you can use as well. Expect a more rocky Mediterranean beach vs. a sandy beach.

Transportation

Will you be providing transportation from the Palermo airport to Scopello?

we won’t be providing transportation from Palermo to scopello, as there are not enough people arriving at the same time to fill a bus to the venue. However it’s very easy to travel from the airport to scopello. Uber’s are available for around $100-$150, or you can pre-book a sprinter van transfer for larger groups here that amounts to 80 euro for 3 people, and 10 euro for each additional guest.

Will there be transportation to and from the Welcome Party and the Wedding?

yes! we have booked transportation to and from the welcome party for anyone not staying in scopello, and there will also be shuttles dropping guests off at the wedding, and picking everyone up at the end of the night.

Will there be transportation to the breakfast on October 8th?

WE HAVEN’T BOOKED TRANSPORTATION FOR THE BREAKFAST THE NEXT DAY, BUT WILL HAVE A COUPLE OF PEOPLE DRIVING AND DOING PICK UPS FOR THOSE THAT NEED A RIDE THERE.

Which car rental company is the best option?

we recommend booking any rental with sixt. this rental company is based in Europe and has less fees than the American companies like hertz or enterprise. we’ve used it before and its very reliable!

Is an international driver’s permit required in Sicily?

YES! An international permit is required in Italy, but getting one is easy! You can apply by mail through aaa here, for more information go to the u.s embassy website here.

Kids

Will kids be allowed at the wedding?

while we love your little ones, we will be doing no kids at the wedding. if you are traveling with your kids and need a sitter during the wedding, we will be having a trusted sitter hired by our planner to come to the tonnara and watch them during the party.
